The Center for Professional Studies (CPS) offers a wide array of programs for individuals preparing for new careers, looking to update skill-sets, master new technologies, or gain critical knowledge and skills to enhance their business, professional and personal lives. The type of program offering include:
- Professional Certificate Programs
These intensive programs are designed to build, enhance or expand an individual's knowledge and expertise in specific areas of study including: Pharmacy Technician, and Medical Billing/Coding & Software. Certificate programs prepare students to take vendor specific Certification Exams, meet State/National Licensing requirements, or acknowledge competency and achievement in specific areas of training. They are geared to adult learners and professionals seeking to gain new skills, or build on previous learning. Certification programs are focused, practical and lead to new jobs or advancement in current postions.
- NJ Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Training (DVR)
Today's knowledge based, innovation economy presents challenges and opportunities for job seekers. ITPS offers a wide range of Certificate programs for training those who have lost their jobs and need to gain, or update their skills. Students receive up-to-date, relevant training and certifications that are high priorities for hiring managers and provide the tools necessary to make meaningful contributions to a company. - Allied Health Care
As the largest industry in 2008, health care provided 14 million jobs and is projected to generate 3 million new jobs between 2008 and 2016, more than any other industry. (US Dept. of Labor) Allied health courses prepare students to enter into fields such as Medical Billing/Coding & Software, Pharmacy Technician, and EKG Technician. These Certificate programs prepare students for jobs in this growing industry and to take national certification exams.
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
ITPS offers the CDA credentialing course to prepare individuals to meet the specific needs of children and work with parents and other adults to nurture children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth in a child development framework. As a result of an increase in demand from many public and private employers for qualified trained staff, the need for individuals with this nationally recognized credential continues to expand. All fifty states incorporate the CDA Credential into their childcare center licensing regulations.
