NiCori Studios and Productions held its Winter Gala on Friday, December 16, at the Westminster Arts Center (WAC) at Bloomfield College.

NiCori Studios and Productions is a pre-professional theater training center based in Bloomfield dedicated to educating both amateur and seasoned performing artists. Offerings include voice lessons, musical theatre classes, acting workshops, songwriting workshops, dance classes, and technical theatre workshops.

The goal of the Gala was to help ensure that NiCori youth students are never turned away due to financial hardship and featured top-notch Broadway and television performers. Performers included NiCori co-founder and multi-award nominee, Corinna Sowers Adler, two time Tony Award nominee, Beth Fowler, Broadway Actor, DC Anderson, Broadway Actress, Kelli Rabke, MAC Award singer, Stearns Matthews and Grammy Nominated Singer/Songwriter, Ilene Angel.

Gerry Mastrolia, Nicori Studios and Productions’ production coordinator, served as Master of Ceremonies.

The stage alternated all evening between speakers and performances. Bloomfield College President Richard A. Levao took to the podium to say a few words about the partnership between the College and Nicori Studios and Productions.

“I’m very proud to have the Westminster Arts Center as a part of Bloomfield College and to be President when the partnership with Nicori Studios and Productions began,” he said.

Nicholas Adler, co-founder of NiCori Studios, introduced the final act of the evening, his wife and co-founder Corinna Sowers-Adler.

After the show, the celebration continued with an after party at Oakeside.

“Tonight was something beautiful. I continue to be inspired by my students. I’m beyond grateful. To expose kids to this program; that we have so much support, it’s so touching. Nick and I are so grateful,” Sowers-Adler said to a Bloomfield TAPinto reporter who attended the event.

“We were so happy to have a very successful Gala. We hope to have Bloomfield and the surrounding area use the scholarship funds for future students,” added Adler.

In the months following the Winter Gala, NiCori Studios and Productions will present “James and the Giant Peach,” a one-woman-show featuring actress Ami Brabson entitled “Phenomenal Woman” in honor of Black History Month, and more at the Westminster Arts Center. Discounted tickets for Bloomfield College students will be available.
