Bloomfield College has just announced its students will be able to visit the Montclair Art Museum’s (MAM) current exhibition, “Impossible Shadows,” free of charge. The exhibition – which was designed using only twisted steel, light, and cast shadow - runs from present day until January 5, 2020. The MAM and the College have joined forces to a robust experiential experience to Bloomfield College students.
“We really want our students to have a broad range of cultural experiences,” said Dr. Marcheta P. Evans, Bloomfield College President. “Also, I am committed to deepening the College’s connection to the communities that surround our campus. I look forward to growing our relationship with the Montclair Art Museum (MAM) and teaming up again in the future.”
The free admission also includes meeting the exhibition’s artist, Larry Kagan, during his lecture at the MAM on October 24 at 7:00 p.m. Kagan will be joined by Psychology Professor Brian Scholl of Yale University to discuss how we see and how we think. Students are highly encouraged to attend the event on October 24. To enter the exhibition throughout its run, and the lecture on October 24, all Bloomfield College students need to present at the door are their student ID cards.
"We at the Montclair Art Museum are delighted to have the opportunity to meet and engage with Bloomfield College students!" expressed Lora S. Urbanelli, Director. Urbanelli has been with the MAM for over 11 years. "We hope to see many of the College's students on October 24, for what will be a very engaging discussion with the artist, Larry Kagan."
